King’s refers to the Lord Almighty—the King of Kings. The possessive form is intentional: the Caliphs belong to the King and live in service to Him.
Caliph draws from the Qur’anic concept of khalifah: a successor, steward and custodian entrusted with responsibility on earth. It is not a claim to status, political authority or superiority over others. It is a reminder that human life carries accountability.
